Morgan and Ashley Mulch owned and operated a historic rocky mountain lodge and resort called Mary's Lake Lodge in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado from 2012-2018. The lodge featured a boutique 16-room hotel, 69 multi-bedroom condominiums, exquisite event spaces, and a full-service restaurant and brewery. Morgan operated as the General Manager and Ashley operated as the Director of Sales & Events and together, they grew their special event business from 50 events per year to 220 events per year by 2018. With a combination of Morgan’s skills as a lead generator and business financial operator, and Ashley’s skills in sales and event planning, they dominated the competitive Colorado destination wedding market, becoming the s.

The primary use of the mountain chateau was for destination weddings, ranging in size from 75 to 175 people per wedding with up to 5 weddings per week and only one wedding per day. Mary’s Lake Lodge offered a convenient and inclusive wedding service package complete with food and beverage, wedding & event planning, preferred vendors, and substantial lodging onsite to accommodate guests of the events. There were additional event spaces and a Tavern restaurant & brewery that could host rehearsal/welcome dinners and post-wedding brunches, making for a multiple day event experience for the traveling guests.

At the peak of their success, sadly they lost Mary's Lake Lodge to a fire in June 2018. It was a devastating total loss that completely upended their plans for the future. Like most people, they could not anticipate the overwhelming damage this loss would cause, not only to them but their clients. They had to cancel 180 weddings that were scheduled for the remainder of that year and the following year. It was a heartbreaking situation for everyone involved that took years to rectify.

Now they have partnered with AHI Insurance Group with the goal of sharing their experiences so that others can be better prepared and protected. Continuing to specialize in hospitality, restaurants, and event venues, they offer a unique perspective with regards to commercial insurance needs and how to limit risk factors. They also offer consulting services for newer venues and venues that are looking to grow their wedding business.
